Amanda Powell Daddies Board Shop Team Rider

Hi, I'm Amanda, Mander, Commander, Gnarmander, whatever you'd like to call me. I'm an east-coast transplant living in sunny Los Angeles and I ride my skateboard everyday. I love all types of skating, from cross stepping to downhill and I am so inspired by the ever-growing lady skate scene. If I'm not rolling I can be found surfing, taking photos, or dominating the ping pong table. I always prefer tasty beer out of a glass but PBR will do just fine. I've found that if you give freely and expect nothing, you'll live a happy life. Oh, and I'm very mellow and friendly so if you see me skating don't be shy, say what up!

How did you get into wood-pushing?

When I was ten, I saw some videos of Elissa Steamer and wondered why there weren't more girls skating. I got a board and got hooked.

Where is your favorite place to skate?

Malibu canyons and Venice Beach.

Byron Essert, Marisa Nunez, Adam Stokowski, anyone that is a cool cat who has a lot of fun and gets creative…

Between a bear, dragon, and a shark, which one would you fight and why?

I couldn't hurt a fly. If I had to go up against any of those monsters I'd probably assume the fetal position.

What is your current board setup?

Sector 9, Mini Shaka, Paris 180s, Venom 87a DH barrels all around, Sector 9 80a Centerset Raceforms.

What is your favorite food?

Acai Bowls! I love them!
