• Rating: Kahuna Big Stick
  Tuesday Nov 7, 2011 Comments: When I first saw skateboard paddles piled up against the wall at Daddies I had to do a double take. Talk about a weird concept. By the time I came back to the shop I was curious enough that I had to try it out. The staff at Daddies let me try out several models and I went with the six foot Kahuna Big Stick outer laced with carbon fiber. It was stiffer than the others and frankly the wood and web just looked cool. First chance I got I was "paddling" my Swimbig pintail up the Columbia River bike commuter trail. I can't say I didn't get a few weird looks. But paddling a skateboard is no goofier looking than the slew of recumbent cyclists that passed me on the trail or the first SUP gondolier I saw in the surf lineup. And after six or seven miles of rolling I felt like I'd done a pretty solid job of prepping for a day in the waves. It doesn't exactly mimic paddling my SUP. It's more of a push motion than a pull. But on a cold day when I don't have time to drive to the beach or the fortitude to put on a wetsuit it was really cool to have an alternative source of fun. The one thing I'd tell buyers who don't have a chance to try out a paddle in person is to get the adjustable model. If you're looking for a way to expand your horizons I'd say pick one of these rascals up right away. Thanks again Daddies crew for never ceasing in your work to expand our board sport fun!   Friday Sept 30, 2011 Comments: So, I was looking at slide gloves. I ordered them about 10 minutes after I ordered a longboard from a different site. The day the gloves got to my house was the day that the other site even checked my board into shipping. I seriously freaked when I got the gloves. They are wonderful, and obviously came quickly. Daddy's is cheaper than the local store I normally get my boards/gloves at, and is faster than the other website I use. I also was treated wonderfully and got emails about every step my order was in. I've never ordered something from the outside of The Netherlands but Daddies Board Shop showed me that there still reliable companies that you can trust. They where one of the first where you could buy the NS Evo. Even though it takes 300 years before something is through Customs here in Holland, this board was sent very quickly. Daddies has everyone else beat for price, inventory and service!! I received my order on time, and very well packed. Everything arrived in awesome condition!! I wish I had found you earlier!!! I could have saved so much money!!! The Bad - except one part (xBoard Illuminator) that was damaged due to leaking batteries; and one item ordered was not included. So I called Daddies and after a brief conversation with Melanie everthing was set straight and the new parts arrived very quickly at no further cost to me. Daddies is where you want to shop!!   Friday, May, 6 2011 Comments: Monday I placed an order for a pair of trucks and shortly thereafter received a confirmation email. However, the next day I received an email late in the morning saying my order status had been changed to 'invalid credit card' but didn't see it until it was too late to call the store. So I called the next day (Wednesday) around 12:00 and spoke to someone whose name I REALLY wish I got so I could give him a massive recommendation as he was easily the most polite person I've ever talked to regarding customer service - anywhere. And as it turned out, it was MY mistake which caused the order to be put on hold, and the guy I talked to was super cool about it and fixed the issue immediately. However, my gratitude doesn't end there, because today, when I came home I saw my trucks waiting for me like a present under the tree on Christmas. I couldn't be happier with your service if you'd shipped a dozen cookies with my order. So whoever I talked to Wednesday deserves a raise and a "Job well done" and everyone over at Daddies Board Shop deserves congratulations because, clearly, someone is doing something right. From here on, I'll most definitely be recommending all my friends to your website and making my own purchases from you guys too. And you can bet you'll be seeing some more business from me relatively soon too, as I am in desperate need of some new wheels. It was very difficult to get that set up because in Arizona there are no ride shops like that.   Wednesday, March 30, 2011 Comments: To all the hardworking staff at Daddies, I just received my Dervish today, and it was so beautiful, I was in tears. I was having such a bad day but all that turned around when I picked up one big package from the mailroom. It was supposed to be 10 lbs but it felt as light as a textbook, and when I got to my room, I just went for it. The packaging was sturdy as hell and gave me a good fight but when I got my board out, I couldn't have been happier. For all those who were wondering, this is my setup: Loaded Dervish (Flex 1), Paris 180mm w/ shock pads, Otang In Heats 83a w/ spacers, Bones Reds. Anyway, the whole setup was so clean, I was afraid to ride it. But when I took it out, I didn't want to get off. I rode around campus for 2 hours straight before my legs started to give out, and I decided to send you guys an email. It rides smooth, turns great, flexes just fine. It's really light and it looks so smooth. All my friends (who all have Loaded) wanted to give it a ride. Honestly, guys amazing work and I really appreciate it. I've worked hard for three months to buy this board and with your superb work, this Dervish, my first board is all that I've wanted. Thank you to all the people at Daddies Board Shop. A couple of weeks ago I bought my first longboard from you guys (Loaded Vanguard with Paris 180's and Orang 4Pres), and I absolutely love it. I've gone out every chance I've gotten since then, from cruisin to class or looking for that next big hill to bomb. This summer I'm moving to San Diego, and I know I'll be riding all the time! Just wanted to say thanks so much for your amazing customer service while deciding which board to get. Your site was super easy to use and very helpful, and the board got here way before I expected it. My board has definitely been a source of envy for my friends, and I would recommended Daddies to anyone looking to buy their own. I'm curious if you have ever considered some sort of "campus rep" type program? I've already convinced three friends get boards also (Sam K., Kyle Z., and Sam K.) and all three have found you to live up to my recommendation. I have a few other buddies looking into boards now, and I would be glad to push them your way as well. Since 2007 the Teutonia watch videos and have always liked the style of the skater in white leather jumpsuit. I went to find out who he was and found a great athlete with an unquestionable style. I was always afraid of skateboards. I am 29 years watching these videos and started believing that I was also able to down some slopes. Not only is your staff knowledgeable, but they are also soooo friendly and willing to take the time to answer all your questions. I recently had an extremely disappointing/frustrating experience with another retailer that is one of the nations largest distributors. Basically, I ordered a set of 169 Indy's which were in stock according to them at the time of my purchase. A week later, no tracking info or confirmation. I emailed them about the situation and they told me they actually didn't have the trucks in stock and asked the Independent manufacturer to drop ship it to me. Still though, a week later, not a single word or update from either Independent or the distributor. So.... all i am trying to say is THANK YOU guys soooo much for providing me with the top notch customer service along with the largest and best selection of SERIOUS longboard equipment without the hassle or problems. The clear grip is exactly what I needed for my three-year-old Sector Nine Santa Cruz Cosmic 1. Local skate shop had no clue where to buy the clear grip - they suggested I try sand-blasting it myself or deal with barely any grip on it - so when I found the griptape at Daddies' for the best price I've seen anywhere I was very happy.   July 8, 2009 Comments: TO the Best Board Shop in the world, I have waited over 2 months to get a hold of The Earthwing Superglider/widerglide-that was sold out!, and finally my dream came true, all because of Daddies Board Shop. I had called when I heard from Earthwing they were making more and would soon distribute them. I got my Loaded Dervish delivered yesterday and since there has been no swell, I've been on it since it was delivered at 8:30am (even brought it to work with me ha ha). I had spent a lot of time looking around the Internet for a good board because there are no board shops on the West coast of Ireland and all the Surf shops are very expensive. They also may only have 2 longboards in the whole shop. So all I can say is, I am like so many people that are not very computer literate and maybe a little nervous about buying stuff over the Internet but with the help and quick response from you guys it made it a very pleasant experience and I've already recommended you to a few friends looking for boards. It looks like a snowboard shop between all the boards, boots, gear and waxing accessories. Everyone is so stoked and awaiting the first real snow of the season for a chance at hitting the slopes. The weather forecast says about a foot of fresh powder is expected starting the night of 21 Dec continuing until early on the 23rd. If that turns out to be true, I can see making a day trip on the 26th since it is a federal holiday as declared by the President. I wasn't expecting my board until tomorrow at the earliest and realistically speaking, I figured I'd be lucky to get it next week really with Christmas just around the corner. It was in perfect condition. The stickers are great too as is the Dakine snowboard lock. I like how you do business and will always check your website whenever I shop for snowboard gear from here on out. Matter of fact, I am going to order your stomp pad that I saw on your site for my new board. It is pretty cool looking and it won't cover up the mural print on my board. I ended up walking out with an Evo w/ black Grizzlys and Avilas (previously purchase from Daddies). I only had time to push around the neighborhood a little last night. Man what a cush ride! I know the wheels have a dura of a Krispy Kreme doughnut but let me tell you they weren't slow. The drop board was a dream to kick around and my 46 year old hip isn't sore this morning. I am new to longboarding and have recently bought Loaded's Vanguard and Dervish completes from other websites based solely on reviews and "Youtube" videos - spec'ed as offered from the manufacturer (Randall/Paris/Gumballs/Etc.) as my understanding of mating deck-to-truck-to-wheels is obviously, given my "Noob-ness", limited. i'll trust the guys who made the board-style logic, eh?...I was thinking of trying a slightly smaller deck/truck combo for 'round-town cruising and had settled (tentatively) on the "Rayne Timeline" and Google pointed me at you good people... well, thank baby jesus...
  After a ridiculously lengthy discussion (we're talking at LEAST 15 minutes) regarding board-type, application, wheel-width/durometer and truck-style/bolt-pattern; your MOM put me on hold to (physically) check if Paris 150's would work on the Timeline... guess what? There's a reason they're not offered in your "completes" drop-down menu...
  they don't. Your mother schooled me and...I love this woman.
  I will NEVER buy another longboarding product (and in the future I intend to buy several) that your site doesn't also offer, based on this amazing display of service. Point of fact.Your prices are fair.Your selection is awesome.

  I've made three trips to the hill so far, each time with different conditions, and that T5 carved as well on hard-packed (no chatter AT ALL) as it did in a foot of freshy.  I find myself searching out jumps and drop-offs that I would never have considered prior to riding this board.  I have also come to the realization that sliced bread and the wheel has nothing on a pair of Flows!!!  If you're not riding a Never Summer and Flows, you might as well ride a rusty trashcan lid down the hill while shaving your head with a cheese grater while chewing tin foil while attempting to sing 'Inagada Davida' backward at 78 speed........in Chinese, no less!!!! Obviously, I am quite pleased with my purchase.......... Thanks again!!

  Comments: Hey there, just wanted to once again thank you for such great service, knowledgeable input,  super delivery times, and great packaging of products.  I received my Randall 150's today (Tuesday), when I only ordered them on Saturday.  Now that is fast delivery.  Your suggestions to use the 150's on the Landyachtz Haida were right on.  I wanted a real carvy and maneuverable board and this set up was perfect!!!!  I road it for the first time tonight and it is a awesome setup.  I was somewhat skeptical about using the 150's.  Seems like everyone with this deck has it setup with the 180's.  The only thing I would let people know with this setup is to go with 70mm or smaller wheels with the 150's.  Other then that,  it's everything I wanted for my next setup. I found your site on the web after contacting many other sites to receive advice on the correct board for me. You and Dan were great. I purchased from you a NeverSummer Legacy 163 (which is AWESOME!). I wanted Flow bindings and Van boots. You were sold out of the bindings and were not sure you had my size in the boots. Nonetheless, you sent me a size 11 to try. The boot didn't fit and you helped me determine the correct size which I was able to secure from another dealer. You made it so easy for me to return and receive credit for the wrong size.
  Even though you were sold out of the Flow bindings, you told me they were the best. You didn't try to convince me to buy another brand which you carry. Instead, you gladly helped me with the correct Flow model I needed (which I obtained elsewhere) but still talked me through the correct setup on the board. In short, my whole experience with your store was first rate. I will absolutely recommend to anyone that Daddies is the place to order snowboards and products online. Thanks for all your help, Ted

  In case you forgot, I bought a NS Premier from you at end of last season. I'm the guy from the Snowboard Association of Manitoba. Well, I'm just following-up, as you asked...I just got back from a 10day trip to fernie, and that board was killer! My old board was a short (152) Terje board that I used mostly in the trees and park. It had a killer side-cut, so I was worried about going bigger with a mellower cut. But man, that 157 turns like it's got all-terrain tires and 4WD. No learning curve, no chatter, no problems... The board rode perfectly. I couldn't believe how reactive it was, especially in the pow. Thanks for suggesting this board for me, and for the awesome price that you sold it for. It definitely made my lines in Fish bowl all that much more enjoyable.
