As one of the original Eastside models first released in 2006, it has made its way to the top as one of the most unique boards out today. This all new version has a condensed compact shape that is versatile with medium to stiff flex . An all-around board that can do it all - Push, Freeride, and Downhill. Very durable construction laminated with a blend of bamboo, maple, carbon fiber, and a special resin binding it all together making it highly resistant to water and warping in the most extreme conditions. New graphic designed by team rider Eric Hovey displaying a topographical map of the hills surrounding the Portland Zoo. Featuring a drop-thru design for a low and stable feel with a useful kick tail made to maneuver through urban terrain. This original idea was formed by creator Robin McGuirk as the ultimate commuter and cross-town race board. He has proven its reliability to conquer a mixed style of downhill and pushing with the added ability to lift up the front wheels over cracks and off curbs with his many top finishes at various push races around the country. Recommended wheels up to 76mm with no wheel-bite.

The more time I spend on the Carbon Dropkick, the better it gets. Great for pushing, cruising and carving. This is now my go to board. Very well made and good value. The only problem with it is that my kid keeps taking it!

Had the older all maple version for a while until it got ran over, loved it for getting around the city and hitting some hills in between, pretty stiff for my 172lbs. Got the new carbon one a few months ago, same great shape and concave but lighter with a bit of flex that made it a smoother ride without as much vibration. Just what it needed, plus its easier to carry around and feels even more well made, very thick and durable black dip finish!

I have been skating hard on a DropKick since Feb. 2011. My setup is using Robin's custom grip job (gator front and rear with some Jessup in the middle), flipped Randall 180's 50degree baseplates, stock Randall bushings and Classic BigZig 75mm wheels. I am 6' 175#. I use the DropKick for a lot of 6-10 mile fast pushing over flat to moderate hill terrain and also use it to carve around and cruise as well. The board shows no flex at my weight that I can detect. Comfortable to ride over nasty concrete on the BigZigs and vibrations do not bother me on this setup. Very nice combination of speed, stability (on downhills to about 30mph - the biggest I have in my area) and carving ability. Turns almost as well as one of my shortboards and still gets me down a hill fast with no drama. The tail is very functional once you get a feel for the footwork / balance of the heavy board. Speaking of which - the DK is solid but not overly heavy for a board it's size. For instance it is roughly the same size as a Landy Chinook but discernibly lighter. The concave is perfect. Locks you onto the board, has nice sharp edges for carves but has enough flat in the center to allow a range of comfortable foot positions. Pushing distance is a pleasure with the low ride height of the Drop Kick.
If I could have only 1 longboard (God Forbid!) it wold definitely be Robin's Drop Kick.

Randall 180's with 75mm 83z o'tangs.
This is the only board I have right now, and I use it to get around on, and have now started sliding with it. The kicktail is great for dropping off curbs, and adding a little more to your ride. I've had it up to 30 or so and feels good. I've thrown it around pretty hard, and had a few pretty good slams with little to no damage, strong board! I'm 6'4" and weigh 220 lbs, the board feels fairly stiff, but not rigid.

This board is probably the most versatile speed/freeride board on the market. The drop through setup with that slight angle on the nose keeps you low and stable at speed and the very functional kick tail makes it more manueverable than most speedboards. The deck has a nice concave and is very responsive. Asides from it's unique design, it's sexy and very well built. If you want a sweet speedboard that can really get around everywhere, this may be what you're looking for.
