Engineered over the past 2 years, this board is ready. The Kalai has several advantages over similar boards that really make it shine. Instead of working with all bamboo, we used a blend of bamboo and cross ply maple. The cross ply maple is used to stiffen the torsional flex of the board that plagues all bamboo boards. We also use a pre-tensioned composite that is substantionally stiffer, and stronger than a tradional 'wet' layup of epoxy fiberglass. You can really feel the difference that this composite makes in the higher rebound flex.

And I mean sick!! I weigh 310lbs and this thing holds up with the Fatty Flex!!! I love it. I've been out of riding for about 7 years and decided to try longboarding. Bought this board and I will never go back to a short board. I only wish it had a little bit more of a tail and nose. But other then that perfect for cruisin and bombin!!

Sessioned for the first time tonight and was so impressed with this board. I wanted a dervish for the longest time but realized i didn't want to fall into the trend so I went with the Gravity Kalai and I am never looking back. I am so happy with my decision.

I've never ridden a long board before but ride park, pool and slide on my other boards (that have a tail).
I jumped on this board for the first time and went down a hill in my neighborhood. Its just too easy, carving and holding speed were snowboarding simple. I went with a medium flex and it has just a bit of bounce (I'm 145lbs at 5.6ft) enough to lean into a carve. It really blew my mind and I was astonished at the ease of riding it. Its staying in my quiver.
The only downside to this board is getting used to not having a tail. The tail allows for an easy way to grab the board or turn sharply, as well, makes it easier to ollie and manual. Other than that the Kalai is awesome.
