The Classic Big Stick is the top of the line land paddle built with sweet Hawaiian fabric covered with a layer of fiberglass wrap for weatherproof endurance.

The replaceable Road Grip on the bottom of the Kahuna Big Stick is made of carbon rubber to get the best grip of the road. The Road Grip is soft enough to allow a smooth stroke and is not at all jarring on the body. It is also strong enough to endure intense riding. These contacts can be pried off and rotated if flat spots ever develop. However, wear on the Road Grip is usually extremely minimal unless the rider constantly breaks on steep roads with the Kahuna Big Stick.

curious enough that I had to try it out

When I first saw skateboard paddles piled up against the wall at Daddies I had to do a double take. Talk about a weird concept. By the time I came back to the shop I was curious enough that I had to try it out. The staff at Daddies let me try out several models and I went with the six foot Kahuna Big Stick outer laced with carbon fiber. It was stiffer than the others and frankly the wood and web just looked cool. First chance I got I was "paddling" my Swimbig pintail up the Columbia River bike commuter trail. I can't say I didn't get a few weird looks. But paddling a skateboard is no goofier looking than the slew of recumbant cyclists that passed me on the trail or the first SUP gondolier I saw in the surf lineup. And after six or seven miles of rolling I felt like I'd done a pretty solid job of prepping for a day in the waves. It doesn't exactly mimic paddling my SUP. It's more of a push motion than a pull. But on a cold day when I don't have time to drive to the beach or the fortitude to put on a wetsuit it was really cool to have an alternative source of fun. The one thing I'd tell buyers who don't have a chance to try out a paddle in person is to get the adjustable model. If you're looking for a way to expand your horizons I'd say pick one of these rascals up right away. Thanks again Daddies crew for never ceasing in your work to expand our board sport fun!

The best thing since big wheels!

After talking to the creator Steve, I ordered on about 2 years ago. I cannot belive how much this thing rocks! I have used it in commuting(in a suit and dress shoes)downhill(to 38mph)Parking garages, midnight barefoot cruises...and to ward of agro pit bulls that the owners let run free...(they are smart enough not to tangle with the BIG STICK)... Seriously...you can bleed off speed, un weight for great drifts...accelerate past the maximum kicking speed, and extend your range when distance is your goal. I cannot recommend this enough! Also great to help beginers feel alittle more stable...
