good (IF you're light)
super sea lion
First, I just want to say that Landyachtz really does stand behind what they make and made sure I was taken care of every step of the way. I just had to use the warranty on this board, as it cracked in 6 places after only 2 months of mild riding. The reason for this? It is meant for lighter people. I weigh 200lbs, however was looking for a nimble ride, so picked this. The Landyachtz rep I talked to (very very helpful guy) said the 39" version IS thicker! If you are heavier than maybe 150lbs, get the longer one; you'll be glad you did.
Sweet Ayyy Board
This board is so sick. I literally waited 4 months till I was able to finally buy it, but it was well worth the wait. If you're worried about being too heavy you shouldn't be, I'm 5'9 205 and it rides like a dream. The board is super light, and the kicktails make for easier manuals. I have it setup with Paris 180 V2's, bones super reds, loaded shock pads, and 78a RAD release wheels. It's a great commuter, and my new favorite board!
Ok if u want the best cheap setup on this board here it is get orangatang fat free 86a the yellow ones and get blood orange bearings so u dont need to buy bearingspacers and keep the trucks it will come out to be i think 222.90 its pretty cheap try it
How much can this hold im up at 16 and plan on getting up to 190 maybe...making gains...but will this hold my weight i know theres the 40'' drop carve but i want a smaller board so any reviews about how much it can hold that be cool
This is a fantastic board. I usually use the drop carve for cruising around due to its snappy flex and is very easy to push because it is drop-through board. The board is also very light and I have used it for some freestyle although after being flipped the fiberglass is cracked and splintered on the corners of the board. KIcktails are fabulous and the concave is comfortable. The sliding abilities of this board are not bad either but I do not recommend any fast freeride or downhill on the drop carve due to its flex. Graphic gets chipped pretty easily but that doesn't matter so much. Overall great board for crusing, carving, freestyle, or sliding.
This board is amazing! Loving everything about it, slides are easier than ever and despite what people say taking a hill is still enjoyable. Only negative is that the shoulders of the board get scratched up easily and fibreglass splinters seem to be a problem but nothing some slide gloves can't solve!! I'm running 50 calibre trucks (red rum) and some stimulus 80a's. I'd recommend this board to anyone, beginners or experts this is just a overall great board and I hope the 2013 model is out soon.
I want it sooooooooo bad
Everyone is saying its a great board.............want one!!!!!
Great carves, sweet slides.
Running Bear 852's, and Durian 86a. This board is a dream.
my set up
I have Gullwing 40 degree stalkers with the stock bushings, which are great, but i suggest not getting new bushings because the stalkers already turn incredibly good but maintain stability. I also have orangatang stimulis 83a wheels with abec 9 bearings or on daddies they have MOC 9 bearings which are the same thing. they work very well.
this board is great. I dont want to exagerate, but this board is light under your feet, it's got nice kicktails for various freestyle tricks, great concave, and the freeride is amazing! I am fairly new at the sport and I have gotten the push-up slide, a coleman 180, and I have almost gotten my stand-up 180 all with this board. My only advice is to really think about how short and narrow it is coming from like a 40 inch with a 10 inch width, but its great once you get used to it.
I mainly use this board just to cruise around on, and even for just that it is great. Its got a nice comfy flex, very comfortable concave, and it has no camber so it is nice and low to the ground for easy pushing. Carving on this board is comparable to riding a golden pegasus through the clouds. It definitely lives up to the "carve" part of its name. With Bear trucks it has a great turning radius, and you always feel secure and comfortable when really digging into those hard carves. I occasionally do freestyle on this board, and the kicks are wonderfully large and make any trick easier. Even little things like going off a curb or manualing down a street are greatly simplified. One flaw is that the fiberglass on the shoulders gets really flaky after the board has gone through some damage, so any time you grab the shoulders, your hand gets loaded up with fiberglass splinters. This is a minor flaw, and I have been able to look past it because the rest of this board is completely amazing.
The new drop carve is an incredible fun and versatile ride; it can do it all, from freestyle to free ride. The flex is snappy and concave effective (the aggressive tub and very slight w give great feel and lock feet in well). 36" platform has ample room and is extremely maneuverable and light. The tails are absolutely sublime. They make scooping up the board for grab tricks or popping into shuvits extremely pleasant. I highly recommend Bear or Randall trucks for this board as they are great for a wide variety of riding styles and are very durable. I ride an 85a venom barrel bushing board side with no bottom washer and the stock Bear bushing road side. This provides awesome turning ability without sacrificing stability and works well for pumping as well. Similar set up works beautifully with the Randalls.
This board is an outstanding board, i like it better then my Apex,it's a lot more durable and the craftsmanship is way better to, when I ride my apex it gets digs an scratches way to easy, but the Drop carve 37 it's like a little tank it hold up so nice run it into a curb. . . . Nothing. It's got a really responsive snappy flex to it an is great for freeride, an can handle about any hill I through at it I've bombed some of the steepest hills in Florida and it does just fine, slides amazing to. This board is just an all around fantastic board. If your wondering my setup, I have bear grizzly 852's with 83a purp. Orangatang Stims,an bones super reds. Over all I love this board and will probably get its bigger brother in the future
Is the wheelbase on this board too small for someone 5-4 and 100 pounds?
if u get good trucks and wheels this board is adream
