Landyachtz Switchblade 36 Longboard Skateboard Deck - 2015

Quick Overview

The Switchblade 36 is the little guy in the Switchblade series, but it sure does pack a huge punch. "And though she be but little, she is fierce." Haha yes, we at Daddies Board Shop just quoted Shakespeare. But it explains the board just oh so perfectly! Just because of the board's size it should not be underestimated. It's built with a maple core as well as pre-cured fiberglass making this board extremely durable as well as extremely stiff and race ready. The amazing graphic of the Switchblade 36 is also sublimated into the deck making sure it will last throughout the life of the board. Like the other Switchblades, the 36 is a double drop design making sure you are extremely low and stable for both ease of pushing while also keeping you the most stable on the downhill runs. Even though the Switchblade 36 is the smallest in the lineup, it still features the aggressive high concave and grippy W concave just like the other Switchblades in the series. The concave meeting up with the dropped platform is sure to keep you not only locked in to your ride but to also feel great beneath your feet when freeriding. And with its smaller platform, it tightens down your speed tuck to make sure you're going faster than ever. This is one of the Switchblades that you can carry around and don't have to hide! But if you're looking for something a little bigger, Landyachtz has you covered with the Switchblade 38 and Switchblade 40.
Drop Thru shock pads, while not required to enjoy your ride, are a great way to remove unwanted vibrations from the road.
Used to keep the bolts on your board nice and tight and/or to assemble the board.
Lubricant and cleaning kits are used to keep the bearings in the wheels turning quickly and smoothly; if this is your first board, these upgrades are not necessary. Make sure you love to ride first!

A classic in the downhill world, the Landyachtz Switchblade 36 kills it. Suitable for all riding styles, whether it be downhill, freeride, or just general riding, this board does it all. The symmetrical shape suits all of your freeriding and sliding needs. No matter what direction your ride is, it'll ride the same. Being both drop down and drop through, the Switchblade 36 lowers your center of gravity immensely for the extra stability. But you can choose to mount it either on top for extra grip, or drop through for easy sliding. This board also comes in 3 different sizes to suit your style perfectly. The Switchblade 36 is the smallest of the Switchblade lineup, giving you tons of maneuverability, and a very nimble ride for taking the tightest of lines. Suitable for sharp city corners when cruising, while still being stable enough for downhilling.

super happy
This board is great. I just started getting into longboarding recently, and after what felt like an eternity of trying to learn to do standup slides on various board sizes and types I was starting to think it just wouldn't click for me. I've had this board for 3 days now and just spent all morning doing slides on it.

The shape of the board really helps you find where to put your feet, especially for some one like me who is new and trying to learn on my own without some one there to show me. The "W" concave is good for finding your footing when pumping and the pockets are perfect for finding where to put your feet to get it to slide.

For reference, if you are wondering about size, I am 5'3" and I think the 36 is the perfect fit. I was worried it would be too small for me to feel safe on it, but I am so glad I didn't go with the 38.

I have paris v2s, mini monsters, and bones reds on it.
Best board in the world
Best board
Really nice deck!
Overall I really like this deck. The way it feels on your feet is just outstanding. I really do like decks with kick tails though. All in all good deck!
I've started with an earthwing (little too high for pushing and wobbles (for me anyway)), got an arbor 46" pintail off a friend (did well for bombing but thats about it) , i recently purchased a LY drop carve 38" that performed well (awesome kicktails), but then... discovered the switchblade 36" and i am in definitely feeling this board. at first i wanted something with aggressive kicktails and the drop carve is great for fresstyling, but the drop thru/drop down design of the switchblade is gross. excellent push off making it the most comfortable for commuting, and totally slidable when you feel its time to slow down, plus the zomb mini hawgs for this thing effin' rips it. alittle buttery for down hill, just be prepared to slide. i recommend some slide gloves with this board because its half the fun. also i splurged and got tekton ceramics (biltons probably do just as fine a job but i havent had a chance to skate them) but the ceramics are a huge plus. super smooth, faster than my space balls which came with the trucks set up ( side note: the spaceballs do come with a non flanged spacer built into the bearing but theres a noticeable difference in speed preservation than the tektons. if you want performance than do it big....)
Best board I have ever ridden on super smooth concaves and fun to ride.
this board is flawless, its light enough (only 7ply(maple)) to kick around and into slides. the pockets keep you in there good for stability in long glove down slides and DH. Although im giving the board itself 5 stars, the griptape that comes with is is most definetly demonic. the rocks are so small that theyre easily flooded with dust and non grippable after that. DONT take the hassle of cleaning it over and over just get it regripped with vicious. SAME GOES WITH ALL LANDYACTHZ BOARDS
Overall Great Board
Ive had this board for almost 6 months now and its done nothing but amaze me. The drops give you a great locked in feeling when going sideways. I prefer it top mounted over drop through though. great stiff board that wont disappoint
Hey, I'm a 13 year old kid and I'm looking for a board that can make the commute of about 2-3 miles, will be good for downhill, and I'd love to learn how to slide.
Is this board for me?
A few months ago I started getting into longboarding and did a lot of research and came across this board. So glad I chose this one, really nice if you're just starting out and want a fairly cheap board! (Definitely recommend!)
Absolutely flawless
I got this board about 6 months ago now and it has been amazing ever since. It is great at everything from cruising to downhill and I will never get anything besides a switchblade.
I abused the crap out of my board and it is extremely durable. I ride my mountain and hit speeds 40 mph plus. The low drop through with the drop down makes for a sweet and stable ride. I ran the otang stims and baluts on this board and it could wing standys like a champ. I used and abused this board with with high drops and hard kerb checks. I eventually snapped my board from heavy use but that was because by nose was half exploded from it smacking a wall. I recommend the board to any one who slides and rides hard. If you ar going fast suck your trucks tight and she will be stable. Thanks Landyachtz for a sweet ride.
if you slide i recommend the 36
if you cruise and want walking room on it 38.
I like 36 because i feel more secure, but i also like 38 because i feel like i have alot of room.
BTW this board is tits
I need a help please reply asap
Im 5'5" tall im confuse of what board should i get the 36 or the 38?
need help
im 6ft but i like smaller boards. would this be easy to ride or should i get a 38
badass board
before i had switchblade 40 and i can ride it with very few slides, but when i got this board switchblade 36 my sliding skills got better and doing some new tricks of sliding that ive never done with the sb40, and you can do tricks with minimal effort than sb40.. the concave and the lock of the foot with this deck really helps me through my sliding skills..
this board is pretty nice when it comes to freeride. The predrifts are pretty good but if you want to cruz around then dont get it. It sucks at carving and you have to predrift every roundabout. If you like to do some pretty nube tricks on it (hard to manual) then get. But if your a sick boarder and you want sometin' bossome then get the 9two5, switchblade, dervish, killswitch,or some indeterminate sliding/freeride board then get somethin' else.
Good Stuff
Great quality board. The artwork is awesome. Size feels just right. I did get some speed wobbles riding downhill. A sweet ride overall. 2 thumbs up :D
I'm 5'4" and this board fits me perfect. Great for free-riding and bombing or whatever else you might want. This board also has amazing pockets and concave so everything feels natural. Defiantly a board to look at
I love the foot pockets on this board! your foot fits right in for slides. Great for freeride as well.
Paris 180
Can you put Paris 180 on this board? And if so can the be mounted as a drop through?
Switchblade 36
Small, lightweight, and LOW to the ground! This board is super low to the ground when drop thru mounted. This makes it easier to kick and provides more stability. GET IT.
short and sweet
This board is so awesome! Its my 3rd board and I need a free ride board (and I'm short) and its every thing i hoped for. with some vicious grip tape it rocks! get it!
