The Tomahawk is a lightweight downhill freestyle board. With its Hollowcore construction, you have a ride that is easy to kick around for both freeriding, and freestyling. Easy to push around town, this board is great for all of your cruising needs. But it still comes in a stiff design, helping you mob the steepest of hills. This board is completely symmetrical so no matter what way you ride it it'll give you the same feel, ride after ride. This board comes with a topmount design for extra control and response. Providing tons of traction around corners, you can take whatever line you wish. The Tomahawk has been one of Landyachtz's most popular boards, and with this new construction, we can easily say it’s a game changer.

Landyachtz Tomahawk Longboard Skateboard Complete - 2015

Quick Overview

The Landyachtz Tomahawk is a sick symmetrical freeride board that's ready to challenge everything you know about downhilling. This board features very mellow drops that are suitable for any rider. If you're someone who loves the locked in feeling that drop boards give you, the Tomahawk has just enough to make you feel locked in at all times. But in no way does the micro drops on the Tomahawk limit your riding, freestyling, or dancing ability. The Tomahawk comes in with a symmetrical nose and tails, making this board a freestyle monster. Able to pop tiger claws after downhill runs and then take it to your favorite freeride spot all in a single setup. With its multiple wheelbase options as well, you can setup the Tomahawk not only for downhilling and freeriding, but it's also perfect for cruising as well. All in all, if you're looking for a board that's ready to sesh anything and everything, the Landyachtz Tomahawk is perfect for you.

The board comes fully assembled and ready to ride at no extra charge. If you want to assemble the board yourself, we send you all the hardware you need.
If the board is to be used for all-around riding or getting around town, spacers are NOT needed. Spacers sit between the bearings in the wheel and provide additional stability for more advanced riding.
Risers and shock pads, while not required to enjoy your ride, are a great way to give your board more wheel clearance and remove unwanted vibrations from the road.
Used to keep the bolts on your board nice and tight and/or to assemble the board.
Lubricant and cleaning kits are used to keep the bearings in the wheels turning quickly and smoothly; if this is your first board, these upgrades are not necessary. Make sure you love to ride first!
so good
i love it
Best Freedride Deck
It happened in the Summer of 2014. I was loyal to my Arbor Backlash for a while. She was well-rounded (although short and somewhat on the heavy side), but she had a good personality and could dance decently. Then I saw the LandYachtz Tomahawk and it was love at first sight. I felt guilty but I had to have her. Her shape, curvy in all the right places yet still lightweight and perfectly proportioned. I immediately started a fake argument with Arbor which I artificially escalated into a break up. I told Arbor that it wasn't her but me and said that she deserved a better rider. The next few days were followed by drinking and hill bombing binges before I built up the courage to approach the extremely sexy Tomahawk. We immediately connected. Since then theres been a lot of screwing and riding. I busted a king nut from riding her so hard. I truly feel like she makes me a better rider. It feels good to be in love again.
I got the 2013 model and since it's pretty much the same it's amazing!!! The wheel flares plus concave and low W locks u in tighttttt and good usable kicks... Pockets so good u don't need to hang your foot off for toesides (reccomend) vicious for extra lock. Also glad with the new wheel wells and different wheelbase options best board ever after mine breaks I'm buying the newest tomahawk!

great for sliding
best board i ever bought for downhill and sliding
good as f**k
this board is my first and it will be the last! i will get all of the version of this board.its so goooooood. it slides like paradise and carve like a boss. my setup is this board w/ some cal.50 blue dreams, bones red,db cloud ride ozone.its the best board everrrr
Wheel Size
Should I get 70 mm or 76mm. I just don't an wheelbite.
Awesome deck but "fragile"
So it took me awhile to get used to the topmount board since i rode drop throughs. This board has sweet concave and nice kicktails that are have some high pop. The corners chipped up too easily after small drops and i've had terrible problems with the board delaminating on the kicktail and on its side. Probably a factory lemon and i could use another deck :P Awesome freeriding and downhill board once you get used to it.
Good overall
I love my board I got it with caliber 50s super reds 70 mm butterballs and put orangatang medium nipples. I can't slide a lot yet but this is a good board to learn on its one downfall is the landyachts grip I tried done heal slides and it tore right off.
I have had 3 landyachtz boards and this one is by far my absolute favorite. Wheel flairs create a super comfortable sweet spot for your feet combined with the micro drops makes this board literally heaven. The kick tails are big but not to big to get in your way while riding. the are great for ollies, kickflips, tigers claws along with whatever your heart desires. This board is great for flip tricks and slides. I recommend this board for all levels of riders and for all sorts of tricks and slides. GET THIS BOARD NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great set up
i bought this board as soon as it came out. i have the old wolf one too and i love the changes they made its my favorite board i owen and have rode before iv been riding it hard for the past few months and it has not let me down on anything i try to do on it
praise for the ram
I really do like this rethink of the tomahawk; the tails are supremely functional and the micro drops create an awesome pocket and reference point for your feet. Although it can do a little bit of everything, it really is primarily a freerider, makes slides so much easier and controllable. Its stance is extremely comfortable, a bit reminiscent of a snowboard feel. An added bonus: this thing is tough! Should if you run into a durability issue, my experience with Landyachtz customer service is exceptional, so no worries even if something happens :)
So good, I'll REVIEW the NEW MODEL
THANK YOU LANDYACHTZ (And the DBS crew for making it easy to buy). This board is amazingly crafted and among the best build quality I have seen in all my longboards (and thats saying something :P)

Sincerely, this is a huge upgrade from the 2012 model so here's the skinny: I owned (and rode the hell outta) the Tomahawk 38 & 40. They are my go-to boards for most riding. I used the same setup on my 40 for the 2013 deck.

SETUP: Caliber 50s and O'tang Morongas (initally). the 72mm morongas bit with 1/8" hard risers. Not badly, but wheelbite can turn bad quickly, so I strapped some available THESE 69.5mm wheels. Im actually digging the wider wheelbase and no bite.

Changes between '12 & '13 model: So first, the wheelwells dont buy you much clearance, but on Calibers I expect to ride slightly smaller wheels. The wheelwells DO keep you from stomping your ride to a stop during that intricate footwork and pivots.

THE NEW KICKS ARE MEGA-DOPE. As much as i want this taken seriously, they are. They work SO DAMN WELL. It just felt right... I didnt realize how much effort i put into foot placement to find that pivot's sweet-spot on the previous model but on the GOAT (the 2013 has a ram or goat on it, and it's tough as hell, so i calls it the GOAT) has sweet kicks. The whole thing feels right, nice and wide for ollies and manuals without having to work as hard.

The concave is more dramatic than before. I like it for 2 reasons: On backside rotations, you dont have to hang your toes over the fronside edge or gorilla-grip the board with your toes. It also makes pushing a bit breezier (for people who keep their front foot more parallel to the board to push) as it locks you in a comfy position and allows more steering in this stance. Also, the deck FEELS lower but I havent measured it (Again, better for pushing in general) and has a nice flat center strip (possibly a really subtle w concave?) between the drops. It feels great. Also, a more gas-pedal effect comes from the footwells/ wheelwell area. Just stomp em for that extra tight carve and you'll love it as much as I do...

Conclusion: It's so much better in so many ways from my beloved owl-adorned Tomahawks. The flatter deck of the Owls only serves to make them more fun for walking and fancy footwork. The GOAT has that magic in the mix. It's a work of art, it's tougher than your mom's old meatloaf, it inspires confidence to push harder, and it makes it feel easier and look better when you do. Tip o' the cap to the folks at Landyachtz, and a thank you.

Longboard of the year... just sayin...
Great board, I'm still trying to get my 180 slides down pat but its just not working with my new butterballs I just got. The board says its very stiff but I still manage to bottom out on it when I stand on it.. I don't think its the weight of myself, I only way 400lbs, but overall great board
So good I'll get the new model
Only board worth getting a duplicate for a friend / extra. I love this board. It must be board number 11 or 12 and it's make me wonder why kicks arent more popular. I have the 38" and 40" tomohawk and between the two, almost all of my needs are met. I LOVE the Caliber 50s on the 40" t'hawk. I went back to Paris V2s on the 38" (which felt right for more kick / flatland tricks). Caliber 50s on this board with a 70mm wheel are perfect. It feels like the concave was designed to bottom out on these trucks... it just feels right. Every time you ride away with your toes clenching the board for dear life, this setup will reassure you.
great board
this is my 10th longboard and it is my favorite for cruising. it is very similar to my other landyachtz. i would recommend it for cruising and freeride. it is really comfortable to push off and set back in again. i usually use it for getting around town and on rocky concrete, it does great. i would recommend this board to anyone who likes to cruise and have fun while doing it.
bad because...
it broke after 3 weeks i only weigh 155lb i simply went off about a 1 foot curb and the tail snaped, waste of money
Just Bought
I Just Bought This Board With Caliber 50 Blue Dreams, Orangatang Stimulus Freerides Orange And Bones Super Reds. Cant Wait Till I Receive It
Definetly the best board I have ever owned
Pretty great
This board is very good for freeride and sliding. It slides better than my brother's apex 40 diamond drop and is very fun to ride. This board is a complete tank, and can take any kind of damage, so don't worry if it gets banged up. It may take a while to get used to, because of the quirky concave but once you do, the board is tons of fun. I got this board with cal. 50 blackout trucks and these wheels 80 a green core.
sweet board
I love this thing. Super smooth and the most comfortable board i've ever ridden. Very stable for downhill. Perfect for sliding!
Awesome sliding
This board is great for sliding and downhill( if you have right bearings get reds)
definitely my best board so far.
This is my third board, and i must say for my first freerding/sliding deck, his thing is amazing. I would recommend it to anyone, i learnt how to do speed checks (small ones of course) in a matter of 30 mins by just going outside and practicing. I tried doing them on my other two boards which were both pintails and let's just say it didn't end so well, i am a heavy rider 5'11" 197lbs and this board has no problem holding me, the tails on it are functional, and i managed to get 180 pivots with a little practice. If you are considering getting this board you won't regret it gurantee it.
This board is a great freestyle board but not that good for down hill much i was gitting a bit of speed woubles. The kicktails are amazing great for manuals and shuv its the board is easy to do kick flips highly recamended
set up
Great board but what's everyone's set up?
Great Board
One of the best boards i have had!
not really good for down hills
i want one
best board ever!! no wheelbite and really stable
This board and those trucks are amazing if there is anyone out there looking for a good board this is the one
Very nice.
Highly suggest this deck. Freeride like that $#& cray. What she order? Fish filet.
Freeride? I think yes!
So dope. Im riding it on Landyachtz Zombie MINI Hawgz 84a with Bear 852 Grizzlys. Super awesome deck. Bouncy, yet stiff. perfect all around. kicktails are big, but not like obstructions. Foot pockets are great. Love the "Microdrop" platform. Feet fit perfectly, and i wear an 11. Kind of heavy, but not excessively so. 9 ply maple is the greatest ever. GET THIS!!! (but dont put riserpads on it)(and get 1 inch hardwear...I got stupid 1.25 inch...too big) Get it, and shred gnar.
