Knees are prone to injury when you are skateboarding and longboarding. They are almost always the first thing to hit the ground. Kneepads come in many different shapes and sizes and are definitely a must have for most riders. Some of the favorite pads of today’s longboarders feature high-end, durable fabrics and hard cap knees, sometimes even replaceable hard caps along with strong strap systems to hold the pads in place. Kneepads are extremely important to the rider still learning as they allow her or him to take the continuous hits to the ground necessary for fully learning and understanding a trick on the boards. There is an old saying that goes, ‘If you are not falling, you are not learning’ and you need to keep this in mind.
