Looks sick but I need help
I really want this deck, the concave is amazing and the graphic is sexy but I think I might be too small for it. I'm 5"8 110 pounds if anyone could tell me if I should get the darkside or the bright side that would be great, thank you
I'm 5'8 and 105lbs, would this still be a good freeride board?

awesone for freeride shit for downhill
the bubble is the best for freeride but the board is to short for downhill, you will feel you are traped because you cant put your feet at a confortable stance when you tuck.

This board is simply glorious. The concave is really nice and you can put your feet, really, anywhere and it feels comfortable. It has some massive titties. One in the front and one in the back. If you are getting made fun of for monkey toeing, then buy this because the titty in the back will keep that foot on the board to push it out. Really, great all around deck and I feel like a surfing badass when I am on this. Easily one of Rayne's best designed decks.
As I pulled this board out I was in complete shock. The graphic was completely amazing and beautiful. Took it out for a quick sesh and my feet are super locked in. Easy to pull off heelsides, toesides, and stand up slides. The kick tail is also helpful for ollies and shuvits. Highly recommend this board if your wanting to show off to your friends :D.
dope deck for freeride and downhill
First off, the graphic is sexy. Dark, mysterious, and beautiful. Plus it's sublimated so it want scratch away as fast. Second the concave. The concave is pretty awesome, not too much, not too little. With the wheel flairs and 3 stage bacony rocker it cradles AND the bubble drops it cradles my feet. I put my foot right up against the bubble in the front and it feels just amazing. No need for a foot stop but I have a cored wheel as one because of swag. My back foot is right behind the wheel flairs and bubble drop and right before the kick tail. It's as if Rayne studied my foot and made a temperpedic type shit for my foot. I can also put my back foot in front of the rear drop for extra steeze points but it feels a little sketchy for faster freeride. For downhill I put the ball of my foot right on the rear micro drop which is perfectly placed for my toes, which also makes the board great for toesides. Next is the kicktail. I run the shortest wheelbase in the front and the farthest in the back so it gives it a tiny nose to kick it up and a small kicktail. The pop on this board isn't very extraordinary, but is expected from a downhill deck. Altho I can Ollie it it's pretty hard to. next is the construction. It's freaking awesome as expected from Rayne. Top sheet of fiberglass sandwiching 3 layers of bamboo makes it very light and stiff. I've curbed it many tines and scraped the tails a lot and there's minimal damage. I curbed my landyatchz switchblade and the nose basically exploded. My one and only complaint is the wheelbite issue. Rayne doesn't make wheelwells which sucks ass. On anything over 65mm I get gnarly wheelbite. Altho I am running low degree trucks loose as my grandpas ballsack but still I'm running 1/4 pad which is too much in my opinion, but the deck is still low thanks to the to rocker and micro drop bubble shit. Because of this wheelbite issue I've made it my freeride board because freeriding small wheels is fucking gangster. My set up is surfrodz rpks, pink polka dots 81a/cloud ride mini slides 86a and bones supers. I used to run 44 Cals but I put those on my mach 1. So go out buy this deck and shred the gnar!!!!!
what are you waiting for get it already!
Great Board if you spend time dialing your setup...
This is a great deck for all around riders and is great for about everything there is. You can even use the kicktail to do some nice shuvits and even a kickflip. However, there is one problem with this board, and it is that you have to ride some smaller wheels due to it's problem with wheelbite. Mine's setup with riptide barrel bushings, Caliber 50 trucks, seismic crybabies 80a and it's super fun to freeride and go fast. contruction of the board is pretty sturdy too! loving it so farr
Come over to the Darkside....
Perfect deck if you want to shred some hills, do some quick standies, than finish off with a nice long slide. Radial drop locks you in pretty well and the bubbles act like a foot stop kinda. Get this board if you're thinking 'bout it!
This is such a great board for downhill and freeride. it is also very good for cruising. I took it out in the rain yesterday and it is very strong and blocks out the rain. The concave feels great and really locks you in. I have taken this board up to 35 so far and is super stable. My setup: 44 caliber cast, 65mm NoSchoolz abec 11 81a and blood orange and vicous grip. i love this board. if downhill and freeride is your thing, BUY THIS BOARD!
Worth the price.
I really like the rayne darkside. My pros are it locks you in. It is great for speed(30) is all ive taken it so far i will proably head to the moutians and get it up to the 40's. My cons are ive kicked it up like 10 times and it already has scratchs on the tail. But other than that the durability is great!! I rode it in the rain too and the graphics were fine! My is set up with 44 cals 65 mm abec 11 noschoolz a 1/4 inch kiro shock pad and vicous and blood orange griptape. I LOVE THIS SETUP and i dont get any wheel bite! If your want a board for fast downhill and fast freeride or even cruising in city...GET THIS BOARD!
WOW this board is SICK! sexy looking and coming from a 30 wheel base to a 23 mmmmmmm! would recommended to all for both freeride and bombing, kick tail doesnt give much pop (could just be me? not sure) but its still great for manuals and poping down curbs ect
I've been riding this board for about a month now and it's amazing. It replaced my 2013 avenger and I couldn't be happier. The kick tail is very functional and the sharp edges help keep me locked in while doing standies. The little bubbles over the trucks feel really good while doing toe and heelside standies. Get this board and you won't be disappointed
