Longboard Lesson Blogger Report

ABOUT POST

I was contacted by this lady named Beautiful Existence a few months ago about teaching her a longboard lesson. We met at Mt.Tabor, which is where I teach my classes and private lessons. We started from scratch as she knew nothing except watching her teenage son ride. I taught her how to stand correctly with the weight in the front, how to push correctly, and how to foot-brake. By the end of the lesson she could do all fairly well and even learned to go down the hill faster than she was comfortable with at first. She has been doing a high profile blog called For 1 Year of My Life. The focus is to learn or try a new sport or activity every week for one year. The blog has a heavy following and I was lucky enough to be featured teaching her the sport I love. She was so excited to learn and be able to begin skating more with her son and become closer to him. Here's the link to her full report - http://for1yearofmylife.com/2014/04/portland-adventures-in-longboarding/
