In the world of woodpushing it is almost a given that you are going to mess up your wrists. In fact, the most common thing that olderskaters say is, “I wish I would have worn some wrist guards when I was younger.” When you fall the only thing stopping your face from taking a big bite out of pavement is your hands and arms. Your wrists take the majority of the impact and it doesn't take much to make those guys hurt. We carry the best wrist guards out there because we believe that wrists deserve the best protection available!
A wrist injury to a skateboarder is like the flu to an ordinary person, inevitable to happen. When you are flying through the air with your face pointed directly at the oncoming pavement, we tell you what, you’re gonna put your arms out there so fast to catch yourself before you break your face that you’re going to break your wrist instead. Probably multiple times too if you’re just like the other hundreds of thousands of other riders out there that refuse to stop after an injury.
Now, there are things you can do to prevent the flu like get shots and avoid sick people like the plague. In the same way, there are things you can do as a skateboarder to prevent wrist injury; never fall (ha!), never try anything (what?), wear a wrist guard and wear slide gloves that have wrist protection (yes!). Loaded slide glove freerides are great for protecting your wrists in falls. The choice is yours. But the choice should always be safety.
