Noice boi
Got the 80a @ 150lbs, 27" wb top mount w cal 44s. Great thane. Must break in for a WHILE to wear off the first several mm to get consistent slides. This wheel is not for learning how to slide - go w S9 BBs or A11 FRs instead. For the intermediate/advanced this is a great wheel for DH/fast freeride.
These here wheels are sweet for all around longboarding. Grip when you need and slip when you want. I never had chattery problems unlike other reviewers but I wouldn't say these are FREEride wheels by any means but they are really smooth when you want/need to slide. I got the 83a and I'm 120lbs. I highly recommend for all around downhill and cruising but not strict FREERIDING. The only downside for faster downhill would be that they're relatively small and wear fast at high speeds but those are my only complaints.
These are awesome wheels they are so smooth ride amazing and slide good when going fast. Great for down hill and pretty good for gripping if you are just learning how to slide I would not get these wheels unless you are just going to do DH. GET THESE WHEELS!!!!
My first love
I grabbed a set of these for my loaded vanguard back in 8th grade and I'm finally giving them up six and half years later. Let me tell you, orangatang can make thane. It's true that I wouldn't recommend these for sliding but since mine are absolutely lipless I can slide them for days :p They wear great and they've lasted (despite getting small hahaha) because I've rotated them. These are what I learned everything on and they have brilliant grip and rebound for pumping (my favorite thing about longboarding). The reason I'm lettingg them go is I can no longer generate momentum by pumping because they'll just slide out and kill me :(
Farewell 4prez! You were loved
Fantastic For carving, cruising, downhill. Not made for sliding!!
These wheels arnt made for sliding!!! So anybody who is giving them a bad rating because u try to slide in these are stupid. Maybe u should research in what wheel you should get before buying it. These are sharp-lip ment for cruising, carving. If you want to slide buy round-lip wheels those are ment for sliding. These wheels are the best for carving or cruising. 5 star
OK wheels
If you are looking for specialty wheels meant for one specific thing then these are not for you. However if you are a beginner and are trying to find your riding style then these are for you. They are good for cruising a carving and a little bit of freestyle. Downhill is OK. If you want to slide these are Ok but not for people that constantly do it. So overall they are are standard high quality wheels
dat shit cray
these wheels are SUPER chattery and slow you down all cray cray if you to slide. they're great for higher speed/racing, but once you round the lips (doesn't take too long time) they ice out if you go faster than 20mph.
Orangatang 4President 86A
These wheels are so good at high speed, with its big wheel base you fell so confident and safe during a slide at high speed. These wheels are really good at high speed but not the best for sliding at slow speed. These wheels are very grippy in the begging but when broken in they are smooth and durable. i recommend this wheels for fast freeride or people how uses lots of strength in their slide.
coasting on air!!!
i just got these wheels today, and right out of the box they ride 5x better then my old sector nine race formula's. The wheels can run over rocks with no problem and ride really smooth on tarmac. These wheels are just the BOMB get them if your setup is for downhill/carving : )
There ok
my friend has had them for a while his slides are super chattery and they don't improve after being broken in
Great wheels for downhill and cruising. Little grippy for sliding especially since im just starting out. I would recommend these wheels for anyone looking for cruising and downhill wheels for their setup.
good for people with strong legs
the yllows are fucking sweeeeeet!
Great wheels...highly recommend them!
Great, Versatile all-around wheel!
Very few wheels can come close to Orangatang, and these are fast, grippy wheels that carve and cruise like a champ! If you are looking for a good freeride wheel or even just a wheel for some casual sliding, this is not the wheel for you. They are also good for downhill. If you are looking for a general wheel that provides a smooth ride, buy these today!
Amazing Cruising/Carving wheels!
Let me just say that these babies haul ass right outta the box. 'nuff said.
Not a good slide wheel
These wheels are ok, depending on what you do. For cruising, they are are quiet, they roll fast and smooth, and if you buy 80a, they would not ever slide out which would make it a good speed wheel, but for sliding these wheels are sadly lacking. They are loud, chattery, do not have a distinct break out point and will occasionally ice out (83a). So, only buy the 80a's out of the three durometers ( I have ridden both 80a and 83a) and only buy the 80a's if you never plan on sliding these wheels.
they go a lot faster than any other wheel ive ridden
These wheels are just…NASTY!!!!
The 4 President are......NASTY!!!
Great wheel (83a)
Grips when you need them to, slides when you need it to, a little choppy slide at first but it gets really good when you wear down the lip a little, i recommend them.
Great wheel (83a)
Grips when you need them to, slides when you need it to, a little choppy slide at first but it gets really good when you wear down the lip a little, i recommend them.
They're ok. Fairly grippy. Slide is really choppy. They do ok though. Probably be best for cruising but it's okayish for downhill. They suck for freeride.
Motha fuckin sick
So first off I should say I'm still pretty new to longboarding but, I've tried out a lot of boards and wheels so I'm just gonna throw you my two cents. Ok so I'm riding a kracked skulls scimitar (sick) Randall 180's khiro bushings, and originally lime big zigs. So I walk in my local shop and I'm lookin at boards that were way out of my price range saw them and just said fuck it (83a). But these things are my probably my best impulse purchase ever. My board is easier to push, I'm flying seemingly way faster down hills, and they kick out for a slide just when you want them to. Straight up buy these and you'll probably love them, I can't honestly see why you wouldn't.
These wheels are very grippy out of the box. Sliding on these wheels arent the best they are kinda choppy and not buttery but there still ok once you get about 9 or 10 mm off the wheel they slide better. there very good for cruising and little speed checks.

How They Shred:

The Orangatang 4 President wheels are super versatile, super grippy, and super super… whatever that means. They are an off-set wheel with a great amount of slip versus grip. Essentially they will grip up and hold a line when you want them to but when you are trying to make them slide, if you have enough speed, they break away with ease! The Orangatang 4 President wheels can really go on any setup. If you just want to do some cruising and carving then the 80a version will treat you great. The same can be said for downhill. If you are more into sliding or are just a little bit lighter weight then the 83a or 86a versions might be what you are looking for. We really like the 80a Orangatang 4Prez because you can throw them on anything and they will work for what you are trying to do!
