great freaking board
all around great board for everything that i have done with it. dont expect to go straight up some bumps with it though, it is pretty damn low; which is one of the main reasons i like it
I got this deck from this site 3 years ago, the one with the death metal panda graphic. It is my daily pusher and every day it brings a smile to my face. As a 210lbs, goofy pusher with a wide stance, this thing is perfect. Love the super low profile, love the weight, love the no flex. Considering all that, and that I live where it can rain if you blink. I don't mind, and regularly ride in the rain. Bearings come and go, but this has proven to be the only board that can take it. No warping or delaminating so far.
Ruins all other decks
This board will ruin all other decks for you, it is that good! I'm 6'2 230 pounds and it is stiff as a board, stable even at 45 mph (we had a radar gun) and with the right wheels, it won't slide on you at all. Perfect pusher, bomber and free rider.
If you're considering a big board upgrade, don't even try a pintail. I, along with everybody I have talked to, were marginally good at longboarding on pintail decks, but once we got to a DS we skated like pros!
Demands 110 trucks and minimum 75 mm wheels (Otangs or Abec 11) for best performance. Nifty top design so go with clear grip tape. Not a fan of bottom design, but that's me.
If you double-drop your trucks, be careful of bottoming out, you will scratch the bottom since the deck will sit at 2.5 inches above ground. This is only a cosmetic problem due to the inch thick layer of strong laminate that Rayne puts on the board. This layer also effectively water proofs the deck!
In all, the best board on the market. The pros bomb the Rockies, Andes and Himalayas on this very deck, if that's not proof, I don't know what is.
Best Board ever nuff said.
I don't know what the guy below me is talking about? must be drunk..
I LOVE my D-Seed! Stable, Sick Graphic, and does just about anythign i want, from LDP to DH, to just cruising. It's a big board so bigger guys will love it, but if your a bit smaller just get a Rayne Nemesis! Raynes Customer Service is amazing! Answered all my questions and helped out my friend when his board got messed up.
Just Expensive Firewood
This board literally fell apart within the first week I owned this deck. Pressure cracks, de-lam throughout the deck, dents, and the "scratch resistant" graphic was nearly completely wiped clean.
DO NOT BUY THIS DECK.
Most expensive piece of firewood I've ever purchased.
Very disappointed in Rayne for selling such a low quality board. Never buying from them again.
I bought this board for my first board, love it to death, not only is it my transportation, but i free ride it as well. Super comfortable, supper smooth slides, absolutely recommend it.
Own it, ride it, love it
a m a z i n g
This thing arrived the other day and w o w it's nice. Seriously fast, seriously agile, seriously good.
Also this board is HUUGE, sooo good to ride. I don’t think I’m going to touch my Maestro for a loong time. Honestly I don't have a reason to, it's like comparing a Bentley to a Kia.
Buy it, you won't regret it.
This is it!
this board is freaking amazing..... actually! Christmas day i strapped some Otang in heats on it.... and it goes! it will pick up soooo much speed, faster than you can say hello! i was bombing hills hard. i was a little scared myself. i had the chinook as my first board, but this thing is better. it is top notch. because it can downhill, freeride, and cruise like a champion. i am happy with this board. if youre thinking about getting it, no matter what the other choice is, buy this board. it will be SOO worth it!
first night i took my demonseed out i was bombing hills harder than ever before, i threw my old trucks and durians on this and was sliding like crazy too. tons of foot space and handles great. super low, i like!
Top of the deck
Hey Dan, I'm trying to decide if I should get black grip, or clear grip. What does the top of the board look like? Just wood grain? Or does it say Rayne? -- Andrew, the top of the Demonseed is all black with no graphics.
This deck is SICK!
I have owned this for two days and I am blown away...rode my first deck for 2.5 years (arbor pin) and it was great!! But this deck is in a different league! This was the last piece to my DH setup and I couldnt be happier!! This board is super stiff (I'm 6'3" 190lbs. and it doesn't flex) and is the perfect size for a bigger rider who wants unlimited speed potential...Get this deck and some flywheels....and never look back! Best deck I have ever ridden...hands down!
i was stoked when i first received it, my setup is demonseed with paris 195mm 90a divine bushings, 76mm 78a flywheels and DBS bearings, rides like a dream and is super low,a little on the heavy side, about 10 to 11 pounds maybe, very stable and easy to push, this being my first drop deck board, i love it.
Buy it and don't look back
It's a pain to get the trucks on but..... It's like riding on the wings of angels. I was a little apprehensive at first but once I bombed with it I knew that it was the board.
Great board. Solid as a tank. Fun as hell.
I've had this deck now for a year and it's my go-to board. I've used it for sliding with Bear 852's and Flashbacks, I've bombed on it with .44 Calibers and Cannibals and I've pushed 110+ miles once in a day with some Monster Hawgs on it. It's easily maintained and doesn't scratch easily. I had a bit of bad luck where my board rolled down my driveway into the street and a car ran over the end of the board and bent one of my .44 Cal hangers to hell. It only scuffed the graphic near one of the rails on this deck. I'm very impressed with the construction of this board. Money well spent.
It's tight yo
Really good for downhill riding.. and carving on it is pretty fun as well. But not the best for free riding. I mean you can do freeride on it.. but there are better boards out there for that. But if you just want a board that goes fast and does not get speed wobbles get it!
This board is awesome for downhill. It's a pain in the ass to carry around, since its really heavy. If you're looking to get a board for only downhill, this is it. if you want a board that can handle speed, but is a little more versatile, go for the nemesis.
this board is extremely stable but corners like a champ don't even think about it just by it!
This is a great deck - very stable at speed but still fairly responsive and maneuverable. One piece of caution for average sized riders - this this is HUUUGE! I am 5'10" with size 9.5 US shoes, and it was just too big for me - however, it is a good board for those new to DH, since it has such a huge EFP that you can experiment and figure out what foot positions work best for you. For freeriding, the foot pockets are just too far apart for me. I sold mine to a taller riding buddy, and he loves the thing. Recommend dropthrough mounting Bear 852s, putting on Venom double barrels or barrel/stims, and flipping the hangers - also be careful about 70mm wheels - it's already pretty low even before you flip the hangers...
this is a super light board, i dont know what this guy's talking about. it's bamboo. for instance, it's bigger than the eastside drop in every category, and yet it's far lighter at the same time.
warning this deck may cause confidence seriously its insiprationably when ur doing 60 down the biggest f*cking hill in ur local area. a incredible deck
When will this board be back in stock? Dan Loveland Writes - End of April is what we are hearing. Thank you.
