Baker Skateboards was founded in the year 2000 by the frontside flip king himself, Andrew Reynolds and good friend and artist Jay Strickland. Baker was put created because Reynolds didn’t like the way that Birdhouse and Zero skateboards were going. He wanted to create a brand that stood for the ideals of a family, portrayed the life of piles, and sent a message he thought was appropriate for his lifestyle and skateboarding. Baker has always been a company with no boundaries and no censorship. Many of the original riders like Eric Ellington, Jim Greco, and Dustin Dollin had their fair share of issues with drugs and alcohol and they presented that in print ads and board graphics with no shame whatsoever.

Baker Skateboards has continued to make some of the greatest skateboarding videos of all time. They always have hours of extra B-Side footage brought to us by Beagle who still uses a VX to this day even though HD cameras have taken center stage. While many members of the team have quit their partying days of Baker 2g and moved onto adulthood in sobriety they still continue to use many drug references and sexual exploits in their artwork. They treat the brand like a true family making sacrifices for their riders and pushing skating to the fullest.
